Lingerie Tutorial Part II - Panty Materials

Continuing with panties, I thought that I would touch upon the materials only today as I don't have time to get into sizing that will be its own post that will be several paragraphs long. Leave it to women to make something that should be easy, difficult. Of course, women will blame the men who used to exclusively run the companies that made these products - even if they were exclusively made for women.
Panties come in two different main types of fabric: natural and synthetic.
Natural:
Cotton: The most common natural fabric is cotton and it is the favorite of both women and men around the world. Why? It's renewable and sustainable, it's easy to process and it naturally absorbs sweat and body odor. Cotton is tried and true. From a sexiness standpoint, cotton is rarely sexy. But, it serves a purpose. My wife wears cotton almost exclusively because she fears yeast and urinary tract infections that can and do occur with women who are wearing synthetic fabrics.
Silk: Made from moths primarily in Asia, silk is a natural substance that is very soft and luxurious. Silk is also a nightmare for other reasons. If you ejaculate on silk, you may stain it forever. If you get lubricant on silk, just throw them out. Silk also has no stretch potential so you MUST get the size right.
Bamboo and other weird natural fibers: The newest panties (and supposedly the softest and most comfortable on the planet) are made from bamboo - another sustainable plant. The same issue with silk exists with bamboo - just don't stain them and you'll love them forever.

Synthetic:
Everything that is made of synthetic fabrics belongs in the tricot, nylon and satin families that include polyester, spandex and microfiber as well. Depending upon the maker, the panties could be 100% nylon with a cotton gusset. By the way, curious why that cotton patch is in your panties? No, it isn't to absorb your ball sweat. It's for the ladies and it's so that maxi-pads can stick to a pair of panties - especially one made of synthetic fabric as these tend to be difficult to get adhesive to stick to.
Nylon & Satin: These are highly recommended to be cool or cold weather fabrics. If you sweat at all during the summer months, wear these panties in the comfort of your climate controlled home. Nylon is more forgiving and typically has a thinness that makes it possible to wear during the warmer months, but you may want to opt for something that is made of nylon or stretch nylon. Satin is a much loved favorite by myself and virtually every CD on the planet. The downside to satin is that it is typically very thick and in warmer months it will feel like you're wearing a plastic bag in your pants. If you still choose to wear satin, powder is your friend.
The best type of panties for warm weather (hands down, I've tried them all) is microfiber. Microfiber is great in that it is stretchable and it wicks away sweat. Microfiber is the reason that I'm a CD again. About 6-7 years ago, I suffered from a severe case of chaffing from my boxer shorts that I had been wearing all through my marriage and while I was dating my wife. It was my wife who suggested microfiber panties and I fell back down the rabbit hole that I've been avoiding off and on my whole life and now I'm lingerie obsessed again. For the first few years, I enjoyed being able to try different brands, shop at different stores and other similar things so that I could try to find the perfect microfiber panties and I have two brands that I fully endorse. First are the Fruit of the Loom Fit For Me Microfiber briefs and hi-cuts (hi-cuts are all but impossible to get now as they were discontinued). These panties are about $12 for a package of six. If you shop just before school starts you can typically get an additional 1-2 pairs in a value package. These panties are durable, are true to size and have a good waist band that helps the panties to stay up. One thing that you will find with panties is that because we are men without the wide hips that women have, panties will tend to slide down on us unless there is an elastic in the waist. I suggest that you keep waist bands in your mind for your everyday panties. If you're just putting on panties to masturbate, this is not a concern. However, if you're looking for something that is functional - you'll want something with some sort of waist band to it to help keep your panties up. Pro Tip: If you want to wear something sexy, but the panties are always falling down, wear a pair of pantyhose over the top as the pantyhose will help to keep everything in place.
I'll touch upon sizing next - not enough time today to get into that. All the best to everyone! Happy crossdressing!

This makes sense now and why maxipads have 'wings'
